General Julio Argentino Roca, twice president of Argentina, owned several estates. But it was La Quebrada the one that got his foremost attention. He received it as a prize for having conquering the Desert in 1881. The estate had originally 53,000 although after his death the property was divided among his descendants.
It is now possible to visit these historic places, remainders of that times, such ad the train station La Larga and La Madamma (the house Roca built for his over)m the same as special work buildings around the main house.
This historical reference, plus the exuberant nature of the sand dunes, set a unique scenery for your holidays.
The 760-hectare farm is devoted to agriculture and livestock. The main house, surrounded by a 20-hectare park, has five rooms: two doubles with shared bathroom, a suite and two singles (also with shared bathroom), a cozy living room with antique furnishing (including pieces that belonged to national leader Juan Manuel de Rosas) and an extraordinary veranda with magnificent views.
Next to the main house, there is a picturesque tower with two double rooms and a comfortable cabin (set close to the rural area) for up to six people.
The swimming pool is 14 m. long and 8 m. wide. There are also tennis court, polo field and stables.
Activities include horseback riding, sand board, trekking, polo, fishing, hunting, bird-watching, rural activities, and immersion courses in English, Spanish and French.
